Staying at the Oak House was a mix of delights. The rooms, though somewhat dated, were large and comfortable. The service was top-notch with a warm and welcoming team. The location was picturesque, near Cheddar Gorge and a charming village, albeit close to a noisy church bell. The dining experience offered good choices but was a bit pricey. Overall, a cozy stay with minor hiccups.

Rooms

The room felt like a spacious studio apartment with a King Size Bed, but the view over the kitchen courtyard was not ideal. It was beautifully decorated with candles and flower petals.

The hotel is located in a charming medieval village square, next to a stunning church, but noise from the nearby post office sorting office can be disruptive. The rooms are beautifully rustic and cozy, with extra heaters for comfort. The service is exceptional, with friendly and obliging staff who ensure a pleasant stay. The dining experience is top-notch, offering high-quality traditional dishes. Overall, a beautifully situated hotel with some noise concerns.

The hotel is in a charming location right in the square of Axbridge, a town with rich historical significance. The service was fairly accommodating but had some communication challenges. The dining experience was top-notch with a wide and delicious menu selection. The rooms, although clean, lack some essentials and feel a bit neglected.

6.8/10

My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was wonderful, steeped in history and near beautiful attractions, but the room I was given was quite noisy being right above the outdoor seating area. The service was efficient, although sometimes a bit slow to get attention. The dining experience was convenient but lacked variety in breakfast choices.

Rooms
5.0
The room I had was directly overhead the outside seating area, making it quite noisy, especially with the window open on warm evenings. It was small with a pokey bathroom and lacked proper storage space. Additionally, there was no heating available despite a chilly day, which was a bit uncomfortable.
Service
7.0
The staff had to provide a fan to help lower the room temperature, which was appreciated. They were efficient, welcoming, and helpful, although getting immediate attention could be a bit challenging at times.
Location
9.0
The location of the hotel was superb, situated in a wonderful medieval village at the foot of the Mendip Hills. It was a great base for exploring the historic area and attractions like Cheddar Gorge, just 2 miles away.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast delivered to the room was convenient but lacked variety with limited options available. A more diverse selection would have enhanced the dining experience.
Facilities
The facilities at the hotel were decent, but nothing exceptional was noted during my stay.
